The Chinese-Russian Symphony Orchestra of Harbin Conservatory of Music was established in 2017, with musicians from China and Russia. The orchestra is a characteristic project of the Harbin Conservatory which includes Chinese-Russian musical exchange and cooperation, as well as an important achievement of the "Double First-level" construction for the conservatory. With a professional level, the orchestra gives high-level performance in collaboration with the conservatory teachers and students for their performance and musical composition. It also provides a high-level experimental platform for the classes of Orchestral Department, which Plays an important role in promoting both the faculty’s teaching and artistic experience.
The focus of the orchestra's work includes accompanying concertos for the Harbin International Music Competition, as well as other national projects and important projects of Harbin Conservatory of Music, such as the Harbin Summer Music Festival, National Art Foundation, Classical Art in Schools, etc. In addition, since its establishment, the orchestra has actively spread symphonic culture to the society, which created an elegant artistic atmosphere and enriched the cultural life of Harbin. It has made positive contributions to the construction of the "Harbin, City of Music".
In order to better serve the development of the conservatory - teaching and artistic experience, and to better enrich the cultural life of Harbin, the following positions are now recruited:
1.Position Overview
Due to the development of regional cooperation and the requirement for China-Russia policy, the orchestra recruits outstanding musicians from Russia and all over the world.
The Chinese-Russian Symphony Orchestra mainly serves the faculty and performances of the Harbin Conservatory of Music, including concertos’ accompaniment for the competition. The repertories are mainly classical, romantic and contemporary works, also including symphonies, operas, etc.
An average of two concerts per monthandthere are two months of winter vacation (without payment) each year.
Besides working in the orchestra, according to the needs of the conservatory, it arranges outstanding musicians to teach in the faculty, and pays additional lecture fees according to the specific situation of the work.
The position is on a long-term employment contract, the first year is on a trial; after the trial, it can be renewed for two years according to the situation.
2, Regulations
1) Comply with the national laws, related rules and regulations of the People's Republic of China.
2) Have a good ideological quality, professionalism and behavioral standards, love the symphony orchestral career, and have the professional skills and performing abilities required for recruitment.
3) Fluent English skill which is able to adapt to daily rehearsals and professional communication in English.
4) Under 50 years old. Good health and mental health; no criminal record.
3, Requirements
1) The orchestra is aiming for outstanding symphony orchestra musicians all over the world, regardless of nationality; All seats, principal and tutti.
2) Individual performance video within 20 minutes, the entire video must be without any editing, with upper body and hands clearly visible. Can be played with or without accompaniment. (It is fine to have reductions or skip long piano parts if it is accompanied by piano.)
Live concert video recordings that meet the above standards are acceptable.
Audition Repertoire:
a) One first movement of the classical or romantic concerto (A Mozart piece is required for violin, woodwinds, and French horn), the recap of the work can be skipped, and the concertmaster and principal applicants must play the cadenza;
b) Two contrasting orchestral excerpts on your own choice, which shall reflect different musical styles and technical skills, and must be selected from standard audition excerpts; the concertmaster and principal applicants must play one solo excerpt from orchestral composition.

4) Salary
The candidates will be provided with an employment contract once have passed the video audition. The payment is according to the position. The orchestra provides Chinese long-term cooperative musicians the "Insurances and Fund" and purchases commercial insurance for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign employees. Foreign musicians will be provided with accommodations.
Concertmaster/ Principals:
RMB 10,000 to 12,000 (before tax).
Tutti musicians: RMB 5,000 to 10,000 (before tax)
